I get overly excited when I go to fabric shops. The textures, the colours, the floor to ceiling stacks of all manner of prints, so much beauty in a single space. This is one of my favourite forms of escape.
I remember my mum and I making my very first off shoulder African print top late last November. We went on YouTube and found out that it was quite simple. We (by we I mean, my mum doing all the sewing and me cheering her on excitedly) finished it in half an hour. Presenting the results of our blood, sweat and tears. Pairing soft feminine prints with leather is always a winning combination. Leather always adds a bit of tough sexiness to an outfit, which is why my lemon leather skirt was the perfect choice.
I’ve been asked quite a number of times why I don’t wear more African print pieces, why I haven’t done many posts on them. To clarify, I absolutely do love African print, but i love saving them for special occasions. I’m afraid to misuse my beautiful one of a kind pieces. I think over doing a good thing takes away it’s novelty.
